Design EXPO, spring '21
Organising an EXPO to fund a class trip abroad

This was a project my entire class collaborated on to fund a trip to Japan, as is done by third years from design every year. I was on the marketing team, and had responsibility for producing this years branding and any graphics needed for the event.

Within the group dedicated to marketing, we decided together that we wanted to do something different from the previous years, and tried our hand at 3D graphics rather than 2D. This had a steep learning curve, as in the past most of my experience with 3D modelling and rendering was in the context of product design.

We ended up going for a "toybox" aesthetic, with basic cubes, spheres and triangular prisms strewn on a pale pink background. We wanted EXPO to be playful and clean, but also serious enough to convey that this is an event with a history of high quality presentations, workshops and talks.

We made many different compositions to suit different formats, as well as creating unique facebook banners for each individual event during EXPO (such as the one shown above). This ended up being a great deal more work than was planned, but based on the feedback we got from participants and companies, the work paid off.
